ASCP President Shelly Spiro announces Advisory Council Appointees, including MediSort president, Brian Wolstenholme
The American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) President Shelly Spiro announced April 15 the establishment of the Advisory Council (AC), ASCP's newest standing leadership committee. The AC is comprised of the ASCP-PAC Board of Trustees, a board liaison, a council of presidents liaison, a student representative, and up to15 additional members including representatives from each of the five regions.
The AC will provide input and expertise on legislative and regulatory issues and assist in the formulation of ASCP's legislative priorities and communications. The committee will also help plan and promote ASCP policy and advocacy activities such as grassroots initiatives, the ASCP Advocacy/Campaign 2011 Fund, the ASCP Legislative Conference and Lobby Day, webinars and fundraising events.
The members of the AC will be active participants in the political process by developing relationships with key federal senators and representatives and encouraging ASCP members to become active participants. The AC will also help educate ASCP members on the benefits and the importance of active participation and financial support of ASCP's policy initiatives.
